Electronically controlled air pliers
Electronically controlled air pliers take traditional pneumatic tools to a new level. They are designed to combine the power of air drive with intelligent electronics, delivering precise control and maximum efficiency.
Thanks to integrated electronics featuring a pressure sensor, a linear measurement system, and an EtherCAT communication module, users can precisely regulate both the clamping force and jaw spacing. Users can choose between a classic straight head or an angle version, with both options capable of being equipped with an RFID chip for instant tool identification.
The pliers are controlled by an advanced control unit with a 10” touchscreen LCD display, built-in pneumatic valves, and variable connection interfaces. For applications requiring a greater distance between the operator and the pliers an optional external safety switch are available.
To achieve the highest level of precision, the system includes a calibration unit that, in combination with distance gauges, enables accurate force measurement on the plier jaws. Each measurement is performed automatically upon system startup, ensuring repeatable and reliable results.
Key benefits
- Adjustable clamping force
- Adjustable jaw closure
- Clamping with a defined force while simultaneously evaluating the clamping distance
- Clamping at a defined distance while simultaneously measuring the achieved force
- Hold function – before full clamping, the pliers hold the clamp unpressed in order for the operator to move the clamp into assembly position
Each clamping cycle records both force and distance, with real-time feedback displayed via LEDs on the pliers.
They are particularly useful for assembling ear-type hose clamps.
